My grandfather posed for this painting at his house in New Rochelle he had him put on a Army uniform but my Grandfather was actually in the Navy at the time. My Mother wrote to him in hie later years and he wrote back explaining this and I still have the letter. I also found a original copy of the magazine on Ebay wich was really nice.
