Santa Sleepng In The Creek
by Greg Happ
My story begins with me on my tractor deep in my woods on my family farm. As I was looking at tree damage from a huge rain storm, I came across a old spring that is usually dry, but the recent rain storm had made the spring run again. I saw the plate lying face up. It looked as if someone just placed it there. I was so surprised to see the Norman Rockwell picture, The Day After Christmas, on the face of the plate. I took that plate home and put on the mantle over my fireplace. From Keith: That is indeed a rare find. I know you are enjoying that painting every Christmas season. I was lucky enough to pick up a cutting board (or a paddle not exactly sure which) on eBay a couple of years back that had that same picture on it. We hang it and enjoy it every Christmas hanging in the kitchen. For me, nothing says the holiday season like a Norman Rockwell Christmas painting hanging on the wall. You know, Santa really needed a long rest after his big night. I wonder how long the plate had been there.
Remember to check back often.
